I model 3D figures and scenes using the amazing, free DAZ Studio, Poser, Bryce, and Adobe Photoshop. Below are a selection of rendered images from various Gloranthan projects. These days I present most images in 'wallpaper' 4:3 ratio for ease of use as desktop background images and screensavers. If you don't use a custom wallpaper/screensaver package, let me recommend Webshots.
You can view more of my mythic and science fiction art at my Renderosity Gallery.
There are a variety of other rendered characters displayed throughout Questlines, and in many cases clicking on them will open a larger image.

Red
Moon. Fog. Creeping Chill. A sentry shivers. In the predawn stillness, a
ghost flute is heard, steadily approaching. Squad men stumble from their
tents, form a hasty wall, blink back sleep. Out of the fog, a keening flute,
and the steady thump of sword on shield. Silhouettes lummed in red: death
runes aglow. A cry goes out in in terror, “Humakti!” The Death Bird strikes.
From cliff of shadow, three ravens, hungry. Famished flesh shall feed.
A Heortling humakti and raven allies, created to illustrate my short story,
'The Raven Speaks'.

“It's
an allegory my good man, an ancient sword but one difficult to parry. Why
even a baritone bowelled berserker such as yourself—a good seven seasons
from a soak if I'm any judge of perfume—will surely understand. Come
taste my ale and tell me of your journey, for that is the coin I ask. I am
a merchant of the Wisdom trade, where all learn from each other. The Great
Balance must be maintained.” Redwheel the Etyries merchant can often
be found at the Ironspike market. Yet for all his foreign sophistication
and charisma, sorrow hangs about the Pelorian with a heavy breath.

With
little more than the stories of his god, young Danwyr Can't-Be-Moved sets
out to win a name, a bride and a herd of cattle. He has no great wisdom,
but will learn from his mistakes.

Griselda
hated her, Natalina had barred her from the Red Hearth sisterhood, and the
fact that the Lunars were pointedly not looking for her itself spoke
volumes. Hinarda decided a change from the dusty Pavis air was needed, so
she set off alone to that town where all failures go: to Boldhome.

A
typical Heortling Ernaldan woman amongst the fields of her tula. This project
started as a costume study: I thought it worth sharing as a possible campaign
character.

'Halt,
Stranger! Who comes this way, to a holy place sacred to the Tribe of the
Storm? Do you come in friendship, or as a foe?' A Heortling boundary thane
challenges a stranger on the edges of his clan tula.

A
typical vingan 'bandit' of the HighFells surrounding the city of Whitewall,
one of the many who run supplies and refugees and harass Lunar troops. It
is late Sea season 1621, and the ceaseless toil of the campaign is beginning
to take its toll.
Shield design based on an original by Simon
Bray, and is used with permission.

In
early Sea Season 1621, messengers bearing the blue arrow were sent forth
from beleaguered Whitewall into Dragon Pass, summoning heroes to the defence
of Orlanth their god. Those who answered the blue arrow calling are immortalised
in the 'Kallyrkala'.

Hindina
the Snowleaper is a Kheldonian hearthguard, a red woman like her queen, twice
exiled, thrice blessed. This is her image,
and this is her
kenning.

Note: This image updates an earlier 'Defender' series.
The workings on the bronze 'arkati' helm are based on original Heortling
art by Simon Bray.
An
Elmali weaponthane, a Bereni and a champion of his clan, stands defiant and
alone before his enemies.

alternative rendering, in 'pencil and parchment' style.

Or,
'Braggi's (Last) Bright Idea'. North of the Cholanti the hills rise wild,
and many misshapen slaves of the Demoness Cragspider haunt the ancient cave
ruins of the Youf. 'But, listen, they're dead scared of light. I'm an Elmali,
I know about such things. Just stay behind me and watch how a real hero
deals with Uz.'

“I
am but a simple cottar, but I have a spear, and a rune-wrought shield, and
a stout bronze sword my father once won in a cuk fight. It is enough, for
there is a great storm growing in my heart, and in the heart of all my kin.
Come the Hurricane!”

Thunder
Rebel. Cradledaughter the vingan midst a typical Far Place dawn, with 'Come
The Hurricane' slogan. My original 3D project.

Etyries
is the Lunar Goddess of Trade, a mortal woman who assisted in the creation
of the Red Goddess.

A
second study. An advantage of 3D modelling is that, once you've built costumes
and props, you can vary poses, camera angles and lighting to your heart's
content.
