'Desperwate Ducks Commit Desperate Acts!' - Quackbeth by Steward Stansfield.

What's New At Questlines?

2006

17 September. Warriors went to Whitewall, came to Kallyr's calling. Our characters grow, age and die questing for their dreams. The world changes. Some find fullfillment, others bitter disillusion. In Ruin, I rejoin two old campaign favourites as they return to the city of Whitewall, haunted by memory. Ruin was first published in Ye Booke of Tentacles 6, and is available here in PDF format with new original artwork.

7 July. Red Moon. Fog. Creeping Chill. The Death Bird strikes. From cliff of shadow, three ravens, hungry. Famished flesh shall feed. In the Glorantha Gallery, a Heortling humakti with raven allies.

18 June. Catching up. An old friend finally reveals his face at Questlines. Redwheel the Etyries merchant—who has featured in several of my stories and dates from the first Wyrms' Footprint module in 1986—can be found in the Glorantha Gallery in the wallpaper entitled The Sorrows of Redwheel.

17 June. Two new Heortling character wallpapers in the Glorantha Gallery: To Learn From His Mistakes and On The Road Again.

2005

8 June. The Far Place short story A Rope of Cedarbark, first published in Tales of the Reaching Moon 20, has always been among my personal favourites. I'm pleased to share it here again as a PDF document for ease of reading and printing.

5 May. A new wallpaper in the 3D Gallery, depicting an Ernaldan woman midst the fields of her tula.

19 March. A new wallpaper in the 3D Gallery, depicting a Heortling Boundary Thane.

12 March. At last! A new domain, and lots and lots of server space. Questlines has been fairly quite over the last twelve months due to a lack of space on my old web site. I'm still settling in to the mythologic.info domain and updating materials, but to celebrate...

12 March. Two new Vingan wallpapers in the 3D Gallery, both set at the siege of Whitewall: High Fell Bandit and Blue Arrow Calling.

2004

11 July. Is Tentacles the world's most magical roleplaying convention? I've just returned from Germany, where I was a guest of the Chaos Society for their annual get together at Castle Stahleck on the Rhine. I share some of the magic in my convention report.

17 January. A new page on Vinga and Vingans, containing all sorts of red-headed goodies, including several articles on the Daughter of Orlanth from Jane Williams, Ian Thomson and myself, first published in Tales of the Reaching Moon #20. The articles describe several Vinga subcults and reflect on Heortling mythic and cultic diversity using Vinga as an example.

Also, some updated Gloranthan links.

11 January. A few minor links (spot the quotes list!) and graphics throughout the site, and, at last, my Gloranthan Bookshelf.

10 January 2004. A new Vingan Defender, (with kennings!) in the 3D Gallery.

2003

21 December. More Ducks! - On the new Duck Cults page, full HeroQuest keywords for creating duck bandits, an overview of Durultz deities, and cult descriptions for Poveri Pondfather, Canarda StweamMother, Hueymakt Deathdwake, Dwead Eye Dueymakt, Loueymakt Storm Bill and Vinga WedCwest. Seriously silly.

19 December. Ducks? Baboons? Oh my.... This has been up for some time, but here's my Scotscon Imperious Lunar baboons vs fweedom-luving Orlanthi ducks epic, 'Bad 'Boon Rising / Beak No Evil'. You can download the module and full colour PDF character sheets and handouts as well. If you're feeling brave. And have ten players. And a spare GM.

18 December. Bright blessings for Sacred Time! To celebrate the release of Issaries' Dragon Pass: Land of Thunder, I have uploaded the full version of the myth, The Sheep of Luck in both web and Adobe Acrobat formats. (Warning: contains some farmyard language).

11 December. An Elmali champion joins the forces of the Storm in the 3D Gallery. 'Elmal guards the stead'.

18 June. Our first non-human in the 3D Gallery! Check out the cave troll in 'Uzdo what Uz Does, Or, Braggi's (Last) Bright Idea'.

9 June. A few new Links and graphics scattered about the site (Click for a larger version!) And isn't Lokarnos.com one righteous piece of content and coding? Check it out!

20 April. Added a Heortling Fyrdsman to the 3D Gallery. Load him to your desktop or screensaver and proclaim your loyalty to the Storm in the coming Hero Wars.

10 April. The GTA has voted Questlines the best Gloranthan website for 2002. Thank you clansfolk. Check out all the winners at Issaries.

21 March 2003. My involvement with community projects including Moon Rites has meant I've neglected Questlines of late, but am catching up with a collection of new material. To start the new year, here's a portrait of a Far Place Huntress posted to the 3D Gallery. It's in desktop wallpaper format.

2002

11 September. Added 'Defender' - two studies of a helmeted vingan to the 3D Gallery. Both graphics are in desktop wallpaper format.

12 August. Further materials added to the Everything Is Thunder page, now accessible to all. In time you'll get a PDF, campaign-friendly version, but for now...

1 July. Oh to be in Canberra, now that it's July... As I contemplate the coldest night of the year, C02 is very much in the air. All the characters for my Convulsions '02 module Everything Is Thunder are now online in spiffy PDF format. And if you're not going to C02, you may find them useful for a bit of campaign colour.

18 June. The Harried Heortling's Guide to Identifying Babeester Gori. Just 'cause. :)

9 June. Added a whole section of roleplaying links, most fun, all useful, for those lonely evenings when your GM doesn't show. Includes such gems as How To Be A Cultist and The Big List of RPG Plots.

29 May. Added 'Huraya's Tears' - A reworked Orlanthi rebel midst misty heroscape to the 3D Gallery. The graphic is in desktop wallpaper format.

28 May. Some great news! (Well I thought so. :)) My work is featured in the Best of Glorantha 2001 awards, and after just four months online, Questlines is voted equal second in the Top 20 Glorantha websites.

25 May. The Road to Pavis, a lonely Vingan on horseback scans the dusty plains. The rendering is in desktop wallpaper format, and you'll find it in the 3D Gallery. (It depicts Hindina, my player character Vingan).

12 May. She was awarded a Best of Glorantha 2001 nomination, so I've taken my 3D Poser model of the Lunar Goddess Etyries and created two Etyries Desktops, which you'll find in the 3D Gallery.

24 April. Substantial updates and expansions to the Heortling poetry page, including a section on triads and many new examples from Hero Wars list discussions.

17 April. The return of an old friend, just in time for the European live-action trollball season. Lyrics for The Twelve Plays of Trollball (The Bhagwhan Song) plus a midi sound file in Songs & Poems. Find da poetry that dwells in da heart of an Uz.

15 April. To celebrate Issaries reclaiming the HeroQuest title, I've added a HeroQuest screensaver/desktop image inspired by the original Hero Wars box cover to the 3D Gallery.

5 April. Added 'Fighting Storm' - A flying Helamakt godi and friends to the 3D Gallery.

2 April. Added a bunch of new anthropology, shamanism and religion links.

30 Mar. Creation of a separate Heortling Stead Project web site. The Heortling stead project is a Yahoo Group that is detailing a number of generic Heortling steads for campaign use. The site is an ongoing work-in-progress, and currently has a collection of links and examples, background tables on stead resources and buildings, and a detailed Traditional Clan Ring with character stats.
